The INTENTional Parenting Programme

As parents, we have been entrusted to guide a unique soul through this world. Our children are not mere extensions of ourselves; they enter this world with their own destiny and purpose. We carry the responsibility of providing the environments and opportunities necessary for their unique genius to be realized.

If we are not intentional about this nurturing, the world will step in to do it for us. Based on your own experiences and observations, do you trust the world to do so?

Our Mission

The INTENTional Parenting Programme is a unique, collaborative, and carefully curated initiative designed to empower you with evidence-based strategies. We help you nurture your child’s brilliance in a way that aligns with your family’s values, goals, and daily life.

Our programme simplifies the complexities of modern parenting, equipping you to:

  • Build strong foundations for every stage of development.
  • Maintain the innate love of learning and creativity inherent in your child.
  • Protect and celebrate their unique identity.

This programme runs alongside the INTENTional Pedagogy Programme, offering broader perspectives and providing the community support needed for real-world implementation through our memberships.

The INTENT Framework

Based on the doctoral research of founder Andrea Yankah, the INTENT framework is a dynamic, cyclical system originally designed to revolutionising education through the empowerment of educators, and has been adapted into a systematic strategy for parenting.  It follows these six steps:

The INTENT Framework for Parents

  1. IDENTIFY: Define your Parenting Philosophy: Approach the raising of your child with the same rigor, vision, and planning you apply to the most important aspects of your life. Create a united vision—a guiding manifesto—that governs every decision you make for your family.
  • Two guiding questions for this stage: 1) What type of person do you want to raise? 2) What type of parent does that person need you to be?
  1. NEUTRALISE: Deconstruct Expectations and Socialization: We all view life through a lens shaped by our own upbringing and social conditioning. To see your child clearly, you must “neutralize” unrealistic societal expectations and the noise of contradictory information.
  • The Goal: Honestly assess your family’s day-to-day rhythm. Determine where your current lifestyle aligns with your vision and where external pressures are pulling you off course.
  1. THEORISE: Develop a “Working Theory” on your Child: Parenting is the intentional process of building a human—physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. You are your child’s first and most vital teacher, shaping their selfhood through every interaction.
  • The Application: Observe and document your child’s unique interests and developmental shifts. This “working theory” informs how you support them in the moment and provides essential data if you ever need to advocate for them with medical or educational professionals.
  1. EXECUTE: Activate the Plan with Confidence: Put your theory into practice! Based on what you are learning about your child’s “unique genius,” design specific environments and activities that fuel their natural curiosity and love of learning.
  • The Action: Execute these plans in collaboration with your child, ensuring they stay rooted in your parenting philosophy. Continuously monitor their responses to inform the next stage of the spiral.
  1. NEGOTIATE: Rebalance Power and Support Networks: As you monitor your child’s evolution, make the necessary adjustments to stay responsive to their changing needs. Negotiation is about identifying gaps in what you can provide and intentionally filling them with the right support—tutors, mentors, or extended village.
  • The Shift: This stage is also about reframing your relationship with formal institutions (like schools) to rebalance the power dynamic, ensuring the system serves the child rather than the child serving the system.
  1. TRANSFORM: Revolutionize your Relationship with Parenting: The INTENT framework is a spiral, not a destination. Establish a system for consistent reflection and long-term planning to nurture your child’s destiny.
  • The Evolution: This is your vital checkpoint to ensure you haven’t fallen into a mindless routine. As you evolve as a human, your parenting must evolve too. Regularly review your philosophy to ensure your daily actions still align with your highest intentions for your child’s life.

The INTENTional Parenting and Pedagogy programmes converge in our monthly INTENT Course. This is a dedicated space where parents, educators, and global experts dismantle traditional boundaries to co-create a new educational reality.

Each month, we engage in an in-depth exploration of a core theme, moving beyond surface-level advice to reach the root of transformative care and instruction.

  • Research Through an African Lens: We decenter Eurocentric norms by exploring current educational and developmental research through an African-centered perspective, ensuring our practices are culturally grounded and community-focused.
  • Expert-Led Seminars: Gain insights from practitioners and visionaries who are actively decolonizing education and parenting.
  • The Village in Action: Through structured community discussions, we translate high-level theory into practical, everyday strategies for the home and the classroom.
