Education

AIM: To develop an educational framework that empowers and enables every African to reach their full potential.

The “Reconceptualising Education” initiative

It is globally recognised that Africa has the world’s youngest population, with 60-70% of its population aged below 30. We are dedicated to ensuring every African child, whether living on the continent or in the diaspora, receives the education they need to realise their full potential. Our goal is to create an evidence-based curriculum that equips all children with current knowledge and expertise across all areas. Each subject and curriculum area will be developed with experts in the field, disseminated by our highly trained pedagogues in context-specific, developmentally appropriate ways. Children and young people must be educated in ways that empower them to build and sustain their communities, thereby strengthening the continent.

Strategy:

  • Through rigorous research, we are developing a set of universal educational principles that can be applied across contexts, aiming to empower and equip each individual to reach their full potential.
  • We aim to produce and advocate for evidence-based, nation-building-focused curriculum principles, guidance and goals.
  • Our unique educator training initiative supports educators in developing, articulating, and enacting INTENTional pedagogies rooted in our guiding principles.
  • Provide evidence-based expert-led support for parents to develop INTENTional parenting strategies to nurture their children.
  • Cultivating critical agency and collective action to ensure knowledge grounds social change through civic education programmes
